In 1948 the UN issued the Universal Declaration of Human Rights stating All human beings are born free and equal in dignity This entitles the right for women to chose what she is able to do with her body including abortion Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy Pro-life people or people who are anti-abortion state that life begins at conception However there is no proof of this statement because a fetus does not carry the principles acquired to be considered a human being No one should interfere with womens choice to end their pregnancy or carry it to a full term This should solely be the choice of a woman Women often abort because they are not capable of raising a child or the pregnancy poses a significant risk to the health and well being of the woman The ninth amendment states The Numeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people which protects the right to privacy This right guarantees the right to women whether to choose to have an abortion by the end of their first trimester There have been several cases on the right to chose including 1965-Griswold v Connecticut and Planned Parenthood v Danforth Missouri However the most important was Roe vs Wade in 1973 a decision made by the US Supreme Court Roe vs Wade it stated that its a womans clandestine choice to choose the acts of abortion due to the action clause of the fourteenth amendment More specifically the fourteenth defines what a citizen is and states to provide equal protection to all people This decision declared that a women and her doctor could chose abortion in the early months of her pregnancy without legal restrictionsunless the baby is aborted further into the pregnancy A womans uterus is in her body and
