The death penalty has been used all across time however this method of capital punishment is horrendous The death penalty is not what every person in the world thinks it is It is not the great solution that one would think it to be One may say that the death penalty is a great way to relieve crime problems However it is not exactly a benefactor in the world of crime First of all the death penalty is not an equal system of punishment Many more African American men are killed then White American men Also the death penalty is very expensive Taking it out could definitely save money However the most important thing is saving lives Many jurors make very biased decisions on their own ideas Innocent lives could be spared if the jury systems fixed their own agendas and did their job That is why the death penalty should go because guiltless people are dying and it is not fair African Americans make up 12 percent of the population However they make 42 percent of the death row population This does not add up It is not fair for African American men to suffer more The punishment should be equal If one man murders another according to United State law they should be punished Yet more African American men are killed The death penalty is clearly not a balanced form of punishment The only way it can remain thriving in our system is if it is equal If that cannot happen then new ways of punishment without death must come Incredible amounts of tax payer dollars are put forth to keep the death penalty thriving The death penalty costs so much This beckons the question Is the death penalty really worth spending so much money on If the death penalty stopped in California alone it would save 100 million dollars Eventually the money saved would be 130 million This is an expensive
