English 110 an introduction to Literature was an amazing summer course I have taken This was my first semester taking summer courses at a Community College mainly to find some sort of support for myself as I do suffer from what is known as Seasonal Affective Disorder which occurs in the summertime for me rather than winter which is the season others experience SAD I have been active during the spring semester interacting with the great professors who teach at my Community College along with some new classmates For the past two summers it has not been god for me because during mid-July I find myself isolating from society along with my friends My isolation had gotten so severe that I had to miss the past two fall semesters due to this issue I am happy to relate we learned a little about what isolation can do to somebody A perfect example comes from the famous poet Emily Dickinson whom I found to be compelling because in her biography it notes she had gone through isolation herself during her early adulthood years As Emily Dickinson isolated herself from society she would find some sort of comfort by writing poetry by expressing her feelings thoughts and even her family What I also liked about Emily Dickinson was the fact she never gave up and as a result of her hard work she became a success As for myself I knew the consequences of social isolation and there were times where I just gave up and basically told myself I cant do this After learning about the hardships poet Emily Dickinson had gone through when she isolated herself I found her to be a great inspiration mainly because I plan on working towards my goals no matter what it takes Emily Dickinsons life struggles were a great example of success because in my perspective the way she
