Kennedys inaugural speech was a display of pride in words that was used to inform his audience of his goals as the President of the United States His speech was different from any other Kennedy used rhetorical devices to make his speech where his audience could feel his patriotism and the passion of his country with his powerful choice of metaphors What he did in his speech was brilliant in ways that opened up some new opportunities of leadership for his presidential future What most people dont take into consideration is that he used these metaphors in an organized process that flowed fluently to his points Kennedy gave his speech to millions of Americans either by media or in person by presenting his views of the country we live in today Kennedy had used a wide variety of metaphors to show some organization methods to help the understandings of our History and as well as our future of America At the beginning of the speech Kennedy stated that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans This was one of the first metaphors he used but the reasons to his reasons were that he was stating that as the new generation of Americans we are putting the new responsibility of our country in our hands The position in which he used this metaphor was to show that we are moving on from our past to show great improvement of our incoming future Following the last quote he followed up with the statement of those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside He used this example to show that past rulers in command of our country didnt have much success in ways that is a very rough ride to attempt at their success Kennedy follows up with this quote to show that hes going to inform his
