La Victoria Taqueria in downtown San Jose maintains a good reputation for serving delicious Mexican food Better known as La Vics it was founded in 1998 as a family owned business As the time passed it became well known all over the Bay Area for its delicious food but especially for its orange sauce The restaurant is also known for its extensive hours of operation It opens daily at seven and closes past midnight From the outside La Vics looks like a house with a medium yellow sign containing letters that says its a taqueria Its like those places where the people have their offices at home and put a sign on the window advertising their services Its a place that you would not go unless you have read positive reviews about it The inside is a small clean bright red room with no more than six tables The noise in the restaurant is a medium volume because it faces a small downtown street The view is a horrible Jack in the Box parking lot However the place is in a very strategic location its right next to the San Jose State University SJSU and most students know about La Vics The biggest complaint about the location will be that is not wheel accessible it looks bad that La Vics with the good reputation that it has does not meet that expectationHowever their service is fast in ten minutes your order would be ready But there is no waiter service you stand in line to order like in any fast food restaurant They accept credit cards and the food is cheap You can have a complete meal for six dollars Once in while a lady comes out and cleans the tables Even though their service is fast the ambiance is very dry I feel that since they know they serve great food they think people will come back anyway And that they do
