This lab report is about mass and volume Massis the amount of matter in an object Mass is different from weight Volume is the amount of space that a substance or object occupies Because the water was massed by pouring in to the beaker The beaker became constant This experiment is to investigate the relationship between mass and volume The unit of volume is cubic centimeter cc but that is equal to mL The unit of mass is grams g In order to determine the density of an object it is necessary to know the mass the volume of the substance and the definition of density Density is a measure of the amount of matter contained by a given volume QUESTION How does the volume affect mass When mass increases HYPOTHESIS When we pour water into beaker and check The volume will be increased It will be increased because more space will be formed When the volume increases the mass will increase also Mass is a measure of matter Volume is a measure of how much space something takes up If something increases in mass it does not necessarily mean its volume increases unless it maintains the same density I think my relationship between mass and volume will be linear relationshipVARIABLE Independent Variable Is volume Volume is an amount of space that an object occupies The unit of volume is mLcm3 In our experiment volume is Independent Variable because it is the same but the mL of the cylinder will always increases by adding 25ml So if the cylinder is 225 The first one will be 25 then 50 and 75 etc Uncertainty of my volume is 20mL Independent variable means that
