Ive always loved traveling It was June 8th when my father sprung the news onto me Our family would be going on another vacation I was immediately filled with excitement It had been so long since I had left the state and I was more than ready for this new adventure I had thought our family was prepared and this vacation was going to be smooth but I would soon realize how wrong I wasWe arrived in Washington DC on July 2nd and I noticed off the bat how hot the weather I frowned and asked my uncle who had met us at the Reagan National Airport is it going to be this hot all week He smiled and replied with a casual dont know I shouldve realized then that we made a mistake by not preparing for the weather for the weatherThe next day my family and I woke very early to start our day We ate a delicious breakfast at the hotel and got into their provided transportation When we arrived at the National Mall I started noticing the dark rain clouds that littered the sky I ignorantly ignored them and continued with our long walkIt was only five minutes after my observation that I felt the raindrops Seconds later I was completely soaked to the bone I was tripping over my dragging wet skirt and couldnt see through the haze of the rain It was getting darker and colder and I was getting more and more irritated My brother wailed a loud and pained NO I rolled my eyes at him for causing a scene We ran inside the closest museum the American history museum and looked aroundUnfortunately for me it rained like that for about three days What was surprising to me was the fact that we couldnt find any umbrellas Does this state not have any umbrellas I moaned Luckily we saw a stand that sold the exact things
