RISK IT ALLOn Thursday night November 14 2012 I sat on the side of highway 85-S just before the Durham exit and waited for AAA to come tow me home I had just facilitated a seminar in Petersburg Va and was driving home to Greensboro NC when my truck began to slowly decelerate in the middle of the interstate As I sat there I tried to rationalize what could possibly be wrong with my 1997 Ford Explorer that has more than 300000 miles on it The longer I sat there the madder I became After realizing that there was absolutely nothing I could do until help arrived I began to meditate and think It was not long before I convinced myself that the breakdown was not due to obvious reasons but rather a stimulus that was moments away from igniting a defining moment in my life that would require me to risk it all Since receiving my Undergraduate degree in 1999 I have worked diligently to pursue success through the concept of selling a product and increasing corporate profits After all I had accepted this philosophy as the American dream and the course that should be followed to fulfill that goal Year after year I gained more knowledge and business experience to establish myself in a place that was tantamount to a false since of euphoria For more than 12 years I worked tirelessly in multi-million dollar companies building teams articulating vision and assisting consumers in understanding the products and services that the company I represented offered and I was excellent at doing it Although I will admit in 2005 when I began selling hair care products I embarked on the most challenging sales industry yet For instance no longer did I deliver consumer happiness by providing the means for telecommunication through cellular phones and other electronic devices to a rather diverse demographic but now my focus was on
