I consider myself to be a young cultural anthropologist My goal of traveling is not merely to see the world it is to understand the people within the world and how they came to be the way they are I am currently spending my senior year of high school in Brazil as an exchange student This exposure to other cultures has ignited my desire for exploration of the world I believe that NYU is the University that will help my inner cultural anthropologist thrive the most The location of NYUs campuses is an opportunity that cannot be matched by another school in the United States NYUs primary campus in the exciting city of Manhattan as well as the numerous global campuses offer the diversity of cultures that I yearn to discover I would like to take complete advantage of what NYU has to offer by studying at the universitys main campus in Greenwich Village and spend at least a year aboard at one of the European campuses Sally Carrol a character in F Scotts Fitzgerald The Ice Palace made a statement Im not sure what Ill do butwell I want to go places and see people I want my mind to grow I want to live where things happen on a big scale I portray the same mindset that Sally Carrol had during her conversation with Clark in The Ice Palace I believe that staying in one place too long limits your ability to grow an ignorance I try to avoid While I am young I want to see what the world has to offer and after I have experience the world I want to give back somehow to the world what I have learned I feel that once admitted into one of NYUs campuses I will be a part of the growing salad bowl of various cultures that both the university and community contribute too The diversity
