The novel Someone Like You written by Sarah Dessen includes characters a brilliant plot unpredictable conflicts the main characters humorous and honest point of view a perfect setting life risking theme and the readers reactions that make this novel a must read The characters in Someone Like You attend high school Halley the main character narrates the book Halley has a very shy and quiet side to her She has teenage problems that most teenagers deal with The protagonist Halley can be known as Scarletts friend or Macon Faulkners boyfriend She has long thick blonde hair and tans very easily Halley has to support her best friend with all of the emotional things she goes through in this novel Halley says until the day Scarlett looked up from behind those white sunglasses and made a spot for me next to her for the rest of my life and I was grateful Because life is an ugly awful place to not have a best friend Dessen 23 The other main individual Scarlett Halleys best friend has an outgoing and confident personality and bold traits Scarlett another one of the books protagonists has many problems in this story and needs lots of support from her best friend Halley Everyone loves her because of how mature she is Bad-boy Macon Faulkner a secondary character in Someone Like You plays a very important role in this novel He plays with other peoples feelings and has extremely high self-esteem I consider him to be a flirt and he is not a good person to be around Him and Halley start going out in the middle of the story and lots of surprises arise from there The novel Someone Like You has many characters but they dont come around as the important characters like Halley Scarlett and Macon The plot of Someone Like You basically is about death romance and a pregnancy In the beginning of this novel the exposition
