Love is the cure Simply quoted Rumi mentioned metaphorically about love being the cure Though as it seems that that simple quote might be kept metaphorically throughout ones life taken for inspiration however seems as if maybe it is much more than just a metaphor Caring for others love and passion has been for thousands of years a medicine of a broken heart However it might have progressed to be much more than just being for broken hearts maybe for one of the deadliest diseases known today cancer As for which variety of cancer does not matter however having a significant other along your side does positively matter It is yet true love to prove itself once more Researchers have studied that it has been proven that married cancer patients are more likely to beat cancer or live longer Partial credit for this is that of the care given by the partner in the relationship As it is more likely that the patients partner to remind them of checkups medications and rest Having someone along the journey being reminded constantly that every little thing matters helps the patients themselves to have a higher hope As it is harder for cancer patients to find a spouse than those without the disease it still shows a significant amount of difference towards the final result for the patients Now not only were married couples with a higher rate but overall patients that were in a relationship itself had a higher rate of health and survival Patients that are single however dont get the privileges and treatments as the other do It was mentioned in The New York Times that single patients were 53 percent less likely to receive appropriate therapy than married patients Single patients have a harder time also dealing with cancer having to figure out a cancer treatment plan on their own The data studied did not show much variation between same-sex or different-sex married
