I am here to talk to you today about donating to the St Jude Childrens Research Hospital St Judes which has been around since 1962 is the worlds premier hospital for research and treatment of diseases in children My family started donating to this charity about 5 years ago and we have donated every year since then because of the impact that our donations had on the life of one specific child About 5 years ago my father got a letter from St Jude Hospital asking him to donate to their cause Normally my father like most other people would not think twice about it and just throw the letter away However this letter caught the attention of my father because it said that if he donated he would get to be in the St Jude Charity Golf outing This would give him the chance to play with a PGA professional Therefore my father donated 100 The great thing about St Judes is that when you donate you can make sure your money goes to treating a specific child Thats what we did We donated to a child named Chris from New Jersey who had cancer We are now in constant contact with Chris and his family and we can measure the progress Chris is making with his fight against cancer Because of this connection we made with Chris we now donate to this charity every year Donating to St Jude is different than donating to any other charity because you can specifically donate to an individual Therefore you get to know this child and form a bond with them It also makes you feel very appreciated Many people are hesitant to donate to charities because they dont know where the money is going However I can assure you from personal experience that your money will go to a worthwhile cause You will have the ability to become active in
