The English language has too many concepts that are harder for a non-native speaker like me to comprehend I had hard times with my first English class I took in college because whenever I would write an essay and summit it to the teacher for grade I would always get a paper with red ink marks all over my paper The professor would always write on the side of the essay what I did not do and what I have done I always had sentence fragment errors subject verb agreement errors and parallel structure errors and so on Those errors on my paper made me feel like a failure I ended up failing the English class that semester because I was not advance proficient or even below proficient when it came to writing I needed to improve my English I could have decided not to care but since I really needed to be advance in English by the time I graduate I decided to take the class again to improve my understand of the English language Therefore I believe I deserve a B in this class I have really improved on parallel structure verb tense shifts and FragmentsParallel structure is the using the same patterns of words to show that two or more ideas have the same level of importance Parallel structure make sentences flow together and the ideas in the sentence are balanced Just like playing music with a band musicians must play the right note in order for the music to sound amazing If a singer off key no one would buy his or her album because they would sound awful Furthermore a parallel structure goes something like this I like to run to swim and to dance and anything that goes like this I like to run to swim and dance is not a parallel structure Which is not a sentence that had a balance
