Left right left I chant with the House Captain along with my newfriends The sound gets very loud in the big stadium as we recite thechants and walk on the field This is my first sports day in the newschool and I am not wearing an uniform like the one I had to in my oldschool but wear an ocean blue dress like others in my group The otherstudents are in orange green or yellow all spread out in the fieldDroplets of sweat start to form on my face as the day gets hotterExcitement and loud cheering crowds me The memories raced back to the sports day of my good old school ThereI stood in the front yard with other students and we looked like stonepillars of different sizes in uniform unity There were no rainbowcolours similar to what is now Everyone wore white shirts with red tiesexcept that the boys had their shirts tucked in white pants while thegirls had those inserted in their white half skirts We assembled assoldiers side by side and behind each other in rows and columns waitingfor the drillAbove the school building the national flag flew with its brilliantcolours of green white and saffron At the very front I saw theprevious years champion with torch light in his marching position Helooked as if he was going to light the Olympic torch The band began to play the melodies ahead of us At once the schoolCaptain shouted ATTENTIONSTAND AT EASE Then we started ourjourney around school reciting the words left right left It was a morning and the sky was as blue as an ocean The orangeglimmering sun seated in the sky threatened to burn off our energy Ourbodies slowly moved like a train on a straight black greased track onthe green grass around the school ground Suddenly a loud voice announced Salute That was our Captainreminding all to show the respectable due Principal She stood on thestage
