Martin Luther King Jr was in many eyes one of the bravest men of the United States of Americas history He not only changed the worlds view on racism and segregation by his non-violent protest but also by his words of wisdom wisdom that was believed to be extinct in Black men during the Civil Rights time period Martin did not see the color of someones skin or the way they spoke he saw the possibility that every man is created equal Martin voiced the desires of the people who at that time in the century were too afraid to do so themselves So Martin was their voice and their hope for a future a world without segregation or racism Martin Luther Kings holiday is too many people across the world more than just another day it was a new beginning As said in Professor Daniels words the values of courage truth justice compassion dignity humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr Kings character and empowered his leadership Daniels When Dr Kings holiday became official on January 17 1983 these words made the decision to make this a national holiday easy to do for the PresidentInterview with MomHow did you react when you heard the holiday had been declaredI was overwhelmed there is Mothers Day Fathers Day And Valentines Day I was just glad to see that we can now acknowledge a day that meant something to many people throughout the world Do you think the holiday only made people want to rebel against the idea of eliminating segregation even stronger I think that no matter how much effort anybody puts into an idea to end something that does not represent America properly that there is always that one person or even group of people who will never agree with having certain races equal to them in society Therefore all we can do is live with that reality because if we are not
