Most people have a form of media they use to gather information Whether it is skimming over the internet at work or reading the newspaper during breakfast it is considered a form of media My sources for media are magazines I read the Entertainment weekly and Time magazine Both magazines are owned by Time Warner Company but Time magazine focuses more on covering world events and politics while Entertainment Weekly focuses on entertainment First major media source I use is Entertainment Weekly It covers all types of entertainment from blogs to celebrities I would consider it as a public interest but also public curiosity The way the content is laid out is very flashy and visual For example there are a lot of pictures and data charts found in most articles if not all The advertisements revolve mostly around food music stores and television shows These examples are most likely directed towards a younger age group based on the topics and interests of younger people I would have to say that Entertainment Weekly is primarily for societys pleasure It does not contain any source of real news that relate to issues going on in the world It may just be a source of entertainment but I also enjoy reading about the events going on in the world The Time magazine is my second source for media that I do really enjoy reading Most articles that consume Time are based on politics world events nation events and right now the election The time magazine cover is often different in the United States than it is in Europe Asia and the South Pacific I believe this is because the United States is all about the image and giving the public what it wants The magazine is organized very well and is logical I find this to be very helpful and easier to read It goes for more for an emotional effect on the reader than a flashy
