Believe it or not most of the things we use today in our everyday lives were invented by the Ancient Chinese Their inventions are still popular throughout the world and their economy is one of the strongest amongst other countries Some of their popular inventions were alcohol silk the compass gunpowder and much more that I will discuss Did you know that the alcohol that we drink today was created by two great Chinese legends Two Chinese legends who invented alcohol were Yi Di and Du Kang which is popular amongst our society and we use it for many occasions The mechanical clock was invented by Yi Xing a Buddhist monk and mathematician His clock operated on water which I found very interesting As years went by clocks were made with an iron and bronze system of hooks pins locks and rods but still followed Yi Xings clock design Liyao p2Su Song an astronomer and mechanist of the Song Dynasty later created more modern clocks Another invention was the tea shredder without the famous tea shredder where would the people in England be The invention of tea led to an expansion of millions of other creation of different types of tea around the world There are many different flavors and brands to choose from The invention of silk I believe was more important to the women of china rather than the men The creation of silk which is said to come from silkworms made the clothing such as the robes for the men and women of china Majority of countries pay top dollar for silk clothing today and most of the clothing we buy today is made in China which is great because that creates a relationship between other countries The iron was also another great invention by the Chinese Confirmed by archaeological evidence that iron made from melting pig-iron
