For as long as an ignorant society continues to do that which is considered to be morally right without being challenged by those who want to bring about positive change change will remain futile For change in an ignorant society will only come if someone steps out of their societys comfort zone and does that which is considered to be wrong at the time Rosa Parks is one of those who challenge the moral stance she stepped out of societys comfort zone she saw what was considered right but did what was considered to be wrong In doing what was considered to be wrong Rosa Parks added more fuel to the African American civil rights movement therefore even though Rosa Parks did what was considered wrong at the time it was necessary to bring change to the American society In choosing to protest the segregation laws in this way Rosa Parks went against not only society but also against the government In Anthony Burgesss novel A Clockwork Orange Alex like Rosa Parks sees what is right but chooses to do that which is wrong Every night Alex chooses to do what is wrong by going out with his droogs and committing ghastly crimes from stealing to raping However like Rosa Parks Alex believes that what he is doing is right for he is protesting governments stance against choice Alex believes that he must retain the one element that makes a human human the power of free will Therefore even though Rosa Parks and Alex seemingly do that which is considered wrong they actually are doing that which is right for society as a whole Trying to live ones own life independent of how society wants someone to live his or her life is the greatest challenge that someone like Alex faces Alex lives in a society ruled by a government that is concerned only with cutting down crime and not
