Music gives people a motivation determination or drive towards being able to define how people act or feel through their emotions Music is defined as vocal or instrumental sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form harmony and expression of emotion Music Through music we can become happy excited sad depressed anxious or some might say sexually driven Mark Morford in his article called Which Came First The Lyrics or Libidos shows that he does not believe music is a drive for sex amongst teens but the only thing that drives teens toward sex is the lyrics and how they compare to how they feel Morford is a strong believer in rock and roll with his inspiration of ACDC pounding in the background Morford explains that with his mind rocking music bumping fetish he was a sex-driven teen He then shows how within todays new style of music the lyrics come to be built with sex To show this Morford looks at the study from the nonprofit Rand think tank in Philly where they did a survey based on 1200 kids who listen to different genres The survey had found that 51 of the surveyors who listened to raunchy and degrading music had started to have sex in a couple of years But only 29 of surveyors who listened to Coldplay Beyonc George Benson or whatever had sex within a couple of years Morford 308 Morford in reflection to his argument uses the stylistic devices of level of diction metaphors and sentence structure With these devices he is able to create a tone of which comes off as humorous with a bit of mocking Even with Morford carrying out his humor throughout the argument he still maintains a negative perspective of how music does not influence the drive of sex Instead he uses humor within his tone to allow the audience to get reeled into the meaning behind all
