Many Americans fear Muslim Americans They have been feared more than they ever were before since 911 Though there are only a few differences between us we fear what we dont know or understand People also tend to hate races that they feel have threatened us and form hate groups Muslim Americans have the same religious beliefs as we do but they have different gender roles and their appearance is differentMuslim Americans pray to God Muslims believe that Jesus and God are not the same person They do believe that Jesus was chosen like the disciples to do work for God They go to Mosques to pray and they worship God or bow down five times a day Islam is a fast growing religion and the second leading religion is the United States They have also had mosques destroyed and burned down A mosque is their church It is their sacred place of worship Muslim Americans also have unique gender roles The women are not allowed to lead religious ceremonies They are supposed to take care of their children and be obedient to their husbands They are also not supposed to sit in the front seat of the car Women are inferior to men in this culture and they believe the women belong in the back seat The men get to pick who they want to marry and if the will divorce while women have arranged marriages Women are also told how to dress The appearance of the women is very modest They cannot show much skin at all For the most part all of their skin must be covered so they do not draw the attention of another man They are also not allowed to show their hair Their hair must be hidden by a headscarf The men do not have to dress a certain way every day like the women do The men can pretty much dress however they want They can
