As a child I used to constantly read books every day it became the focal point of my every day life If I did not read I habitually did not feel at peace reading was essentially my life because it gave me the ability to heighten my imagination As a child my imagination was everything to me because it gave me the competence to imagine fictional characters and concoct magical ideas This was my way of keeping myself occupied and I could use my new gained intelligence to impress my friends Therefore I started books about Batman Superman and Hercules As I grew up though I had to separate myself from elementary publications and move on to more advanced pieces of literature The first book I started to read was The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket These books really changed my life because of the interesting twist of events in them Although I knew these stories could never happen in reality the fiction aspect of it got me hooked because of the multifarious absurd range of events that occurred I was so fascinated by the main characters Sunny Baudelaire Violet Baudelaire Klaus Baudelaire and Count Olaf and their ludicrous experiences to the point that I was reading these books instead of doing my actual homework My teachers became so worried that I never completed any assignments that they eventually called my parents and told them that I was not doing homework My parents were astonished because they would continuously see me reading books that they believed were related to school little did they know I was reading books The series of Unfortunate Events Due to this incident I started to balance my personal reading with my schoolwork and this made me become a well-rounded student I started to focus my attention towards History and I was learning about the Pilgrims and the true meaning of why I always had a Turkey on
