Ive never liked waking up early in the morning In fact Ive always hated it but that ended when I decided to take the mornings to my advantage by working out After about seven or eight hours of sleeping in my warm comfy bed I open my eyes and lift myself up to sit straight I dont get out of bed as soon as I wake up though The first thing I do is lean forward reach my toes and stretch While bending over as far as I can I feel my calves lower back and thighs stretch like an elastic band It kind of hurts but it feels good at the same time sort of like when youre scratching a mosquito bite The scratching hurts you but it feels good to satisfy that itching feeling around the bite Once I finish stretching I hop out of bed put on some sweatsgrab my iPodslip on my Nikes and hit the treadmill For the first five minutes of being on the treadmill I walk at a speed of 35 mph My ponytail sways from side to side as I walk The heels of my feet press against the moving platform below me I can feel myself getting warmer as I reach my 5 minute mark I switch to a fast moving song on my iPod and speed things up to 53 mph Im running now and Im pumped I love the feeling of running or maybe its just the speed that I like so much Im lifting my legs quickly to run the distance I feel the weight of the muscles in my thighs and lower legs being used Theyre heavy and make my run a little more of a challenge Thats ok though because I love challenging myself My hands are both closed to a tight fist and my arms are quickly swinging back and forth After 10 minutes I take a deep breath
