Unlike most experiences I have with sports and everyday activities this one was different While I was young my parents would always take me and my sister up north One time we all went surfing at sand dollar beach up in Big Sur and I wore a 32 wetsuit in the middle of winter The water temperature hit me like a train It wasnt a good idea to wear a 32 and I definitely learned a lesson I still remember the events that occurred that afternoon I have always been captivated by the scenery driving up PCH through Big Sur The green redwood trees covered the mountains and crystal blue water lay at the bottom of sheer cliffs The drive was always long and the road hugged the mountains curves The air was crisp and clean The sky painted blue I remember going to the Fireside Inn Motel in Cambria right on the beach My dad telling me about the fun waves made me super exited to surf Even though it was sunny the air was still chilly everything felt so fresh and natural Sun dwindling down I knew I was going to surf bright and early in the morning It was six in the morning and I was abruptly woken up by my dad saying Make sure you wear your 43 wetsuit today the water is cold Still groggy not believing the water would be as cold as my dad said I grabbed my 32 wetsuit because it was right next to my bed I remember thinking about it on the way to seashell beach I thought to myself It wont be that bad the sun is out it feels warmer than yesterday and the water cant be that cold Therefore I wasnt worried about what wetsuit I had at the moment I was more worried if we were going to make it to the beach alive My dad driving the car made sharp
