Very sad They have been there for almost three months I talked to myself looking at the Occupy Boston protesters at Dewey Square across from where I worked Those tents were so fragile in the wind mixed with the first snow of Boston in December 2011 My thought goes back to 2008 my family moved to the land of American dream in 2008 After a series of large financial institution collapsed I decided to study economics and mathematics and hope one day I can plan on economic policies for a more stable economy in the future I worked hard and managed my time wisely in order to balance my school works internship school activities and teaching at a non-profit community school at the same time At school I had been done well on both academics and extracurricular activities For four years I had consecutively been on the Deans list I enjoyed taking challenging classes and be excel in the top 5 of those classes such as the Calculus 3 Honors real analysis probability and statistics and financial economics class All those classes have laid a solid foundation of qualitative and quantitative analytic methods for my future study at Sloans MFin program to understand advanced financial theories as well as mathematical and statistical models Based on my unique US education and immigration experience I saw myself as a bridge connecting the local American students and international student On one hand I actively involved in the intergroup dialogues under the LEAD 360 leadership program to explore similarities and differences among people which will lead to develop the awareness of diversity of the student community on campus and develop a long term impact on the global society Yellow brick road project On the other hand I led the International Student Peer Mentor program during my senior year to provide strategies and guidance to international students to overcome culture shock understand culture differences and improve English conversational skill for
