Life is simply what you make it Can you look at your life and say that you are satisfied with your accomplishments A lot of us cannot say that As a young adult I can actually say that my life is where I want it to be In this paper I will discuss how my past present and my future goals helped mold me into the person I am today I will also apply theories I learned in this course to my lifeI was born in Florence Sc However I was raised in Meriden CT and Kingstree SC Growing up was not typical for me I am the middle child My parents have three children As a five-year-old I knew my life wasnt normal I did not get to go to the zoo or have toys like my playmates Instead of watching cartoons or playing outside my siblings and I spent our years bouncing from home to home My parents were very immature They bought us into this world knowing that they could not provide for us At the very young age of eight-years-old I learned that both my parents were addicted to drugs For a very long period of my life my siblings and I lived with our grandparents My parents were too caught up in living their own lives to take care of us they did the best that they could Drugs really tore my family apart All that I longed for as a child was love and attention Children love and want to be loved and they very much prefer the joy of accomplishment to the triumph of hateful failure Do not mistake a child for his symptom Erikson Erik 1641 A few years later my parents divorced The divorce affected the entire family A couple years later my grandparents became addicted to drugs as well At this point we did not have a stable providerI can remember wearing the same clothes
