I will study Journalism in University of Wisconsin-Madison and seek and tell the truth of the world as a journalist When I was a high school student teachers in my school showed lots of media materials related to their teaching subjects One day a teacher who taught social studies brought a documentary named Zeitgeist in class He said to my class You will be changed or never be changed after you see it I saw it with curiosity It talked about religion money wars and terrors with a critical view It explained about those global issues in the way I did not knowAt that time I was shocked about what I have known and what I have believed might be false The information in it was new to everyone in class It said what it showed was based on truth Some classmates said it was a conspiracy theory and it could not be true After I saw it I thought it did not matter to me whether this documentary said truth or false I thought that the most important thing is seeking the truth of the world with rationality and intelligence as a citizen of my country and the world I was really changed after I saw this challenging documentary I had accepted information from mass media about global issues not trying to find the truth in the information I did not ask what it was and did not challenge it I was like a pig in small pen just eating food from an owner all day Simply I was passive I have been trying not to become a pig in this world since I saw the documentaryThe high school teacher helped me to pursue the truth of the world which was a goal in my life Seeking the truth of the world is the biggest reason I want to study Journalism in University of Wisconsin-Madison Using what I learned from the documentary I will
