I sit at my computer on an idle Saturday afternoon the screen staring me in the face I open up my browser and my homepage appears Googlecom My eyes are transfixed on the daunting curser blinking in the search box I do something that without being pressed no one would readily admit to doing I slowly start to type J-A-M I continue typing until my full name is completed James Stewart 26800000 results I am nobody I am not unique I am not special I am just James Stewart white male from Tucson ArizonaBecause of this name I was born with I have to constantly stay up to date on my James Stewart Trivia lestin case a stranger a substitute teacher or some kid comes up to me with the all too familiar phrase dont I know your name from somewhere There is of course the old actor James Stewart whom I get this reference from the most Then there is James Stewart the African-American professional dirt bike rider I dont mind being compared to him The least most common one also happens to be most awkward Each and every time I go to the airport I am the chosen one for the random TSA background checks Apparently I have the same name of a man associated with a crazed Irish terrorist organization so Im told In all seriousness my generic name has given me the drive to become someone more than just the guy who doesnt show up as the top result on a Google search Its given me the opportunity to be my own person to be unique Oddly enough because of my name Im actually more driven I strive not to simply go to college and start a family but to be a distinguished individual something that hasnt been a common theme in my life I strive to one day look at those 26800000 results and see not information about famous actors
