The curtains go up and the lights come on your heart is pounding and you get a sudden thrill feeling as if you are going to be sick from excitement After many weeks of rehearsals running lines and costume fittings it is time for the show All the challenging work that has been completed has paid off Though there may be moments of apprehensionand the occasional meltdown the payoff is abundantYou are a part of something magnificent a theatre productionTo be a member of a cast is an astonishing thing It is something people do not really understand unless they have experienced it themselvesWhen I did Little Women last year my cast became like my family during the run of the show Many of the friendships I made thenstill endure today We shared many tears hilarious moments in rehearsal such as flubbed lines and the occasionalentertaining nuisance of people unintentionally breaking props Most of all we shared the pressureof needing to balance the time consuming show with our school work The friendships we formedwere uniqueI met many varieties of people people I never thought in a million years I would be friends with or that I would normally talk to My cast mates were people who I relied on for the show I expected them to be candid with me on my performance tell me what I could improve and to applaud me when I did something well I developed such close connections with my cast that if I dropped a line or started having a fit of incessant giggling from nerves they could sense my panic and try to pick the scene up for me Without my cast I was a lost actress in a vast sea of linesBeing an actor in a theatre production is a very honorable and unique experience especially if you are a lead However all parts involved in a theatre production are equally important For instance what would a
