March 13th 2010 the varsity Radnor lacrosse team was in Ithaca New York Winter was coming to an end and so was my relaxed and dependent on others lifestyle We were on our annual trip to a college we stay in a hotel on a university and we play on their field against a top high school team in their state This particular year 2009-2010 we went to Cornell University Like most freshman making a varsity team we rode the bench With nothing to do except wait to be called on for the final seconds of the game together we had little to no impact on our teams performance This was fine with me at the time I thought thats what every freshman does Until our captain suffered a season ending injury revealing the true meaning behind the saying Anything is possible most importantly bringing reality into my lifeSuch an exciting time to be part of the team with high hopes and expectations of a state championship Only thing sweeter was being away from school in New York and playing lacrosse In the midst of March we prepared to play our game and be frozen Myself along with the rest of the freshman wore a lot more clothing than we would have had we been expecting to play We still made the wise choice of wearing our game shorts unlike my twin Brendan He looked like he wasnt even a lacrosse player Wearing a sweatshirt jacket and sweatpants on the sidelines with his hood tucked under his helmet During pre game warm up coach Beiger told us that there was going to be an extra quarter added on for the people who did not play much in the actual game A little bummed and a little satisfied I was one of those who did not see the field until the actual game was over Seconds before the game started Beau Brady our captain and
