I was not one of those people which knew since they were in first grade that they wanted to be a teacher After twenty-five years of a career in customer service I didnt feel challenged or mentally satisfied anymore After I raised my son I realized that I had become more patient I knew I could offer motivation in assisting other children to achieve success in their education This was when I discovered that I wanted to pursue a new career in Elementary EducationThis new journey has not been easy It has been very challenging and most of all mentally stimulating As many others would say my favorite part of becoming a teacher is the interaction with the children That by far has been the most rewarding experience about my new career choice I never imagined how gratifying it would be when children reach their A-ha moments I have grown very fond of the earlier grades kindergarten through second When I receive my Elementary Education degree I do hope to pursue a position in those grade levels I might consider becoming a Spanish teacher for the higher grades after several years of teaching elementary schoolNow that I am an adult student I feel like a young child absorbing all this new information like a sponge quickly absorbs water I cant believe how much I missed out on when I was in grade school and I want to be sure that my students do not miss any learning opportunities I enjoy learning and refreshing my memory about Math and Science and NASA makes learning Science fun I want to acquire as much knowledge as possible so that I can pass it on to my future students There is no better way to pass knowledge then to tell the students that I was actually there and that I saw and heard it with my own eyes and ears Like the saying goes knowledge is powerNASA has
