On the year 2008 the NBA has stopped allowing professional basketball teams to draft high school players The new rule is that a player has to attend college for at least a year before being eligible to be drafted in the NBA I believe otherwise being able to draft high school players is better for both the NBA teams and high school players Most of the high school players drafted became NBA stars even those who did not become stars in the NBA still turned out to be solid players Since the rule has changed there were so many high school players with enough talent forced to attend college for a year All they did in college was focus on basketball and they took easy courses because they knew they were going to get drafted after their first college year was done My main point is that it can ruin a players career by making them go to college instead of allowing a player with enough talent to get drafted It is there dream to make it in the NBA they work hard for it They know before the draft if they are going to make it because they are informed and theres prediction on when they are going to get chosen Youre ruining their career by forcing them to go to college instead of letting their dreams come true By forcing them to college any things can happen worst case scenario is that they can get a career ending injury before even getting in to the NBA I believe that forcing high school players to go to college first is not the best option They should go back on drafting high school players with few adjustmentsA solution would be is to allow high school players to get drafted again High school players will get more motivated as ever knowing that they can go straight to professional basketball after graduating They would not be motivated
