Health care is one of the biggest concerns in the United States A persons health is very important to them They have to stay healthy so they can do everyday tasks Paying for the doctors visit and the medicine needed to get better will cost as much as your paycheck This is where health insurance comes in provides them the coverage they need to get the best medical attention Health care might be the most important and expensive part of anyones budget To this day there are still a large number of Americans who are uninsured This essay covers President Obamas proposal for a National Health Plan NHP and the efforts to deal with the cost of health care in the United StatesThe NHP is Obamas plan to bring health care to everyone and make it affordable while providing the maximum coverage The Obama Plan More Regulation Unsustainable Spending states The NHP would be made available to anyone who does not have access to employer-sponsored insurance or existing public programs such as Medicare Medicaid or SCHIP Antos et al 463 If insurance is not available for someone at work the NHP is the alterative option The NHP is the health insurance plan that is available to members of Congress Because of this it is which is considered as an elite plan The coverage of the NHP is one of the best and the benefits are similar to any regular health insurance plan As noted in The Obama Plan Its benefits could be broadly similar to one of the national plans offered under the Federal Employees Health Benefits FEHB program and the cost of the NHP is likely to be about the same order of magnitude ibid 464 If the members of the NHP are basically getting the same benefits as the people in the FEHB it will be worth the cost because they will be provided the best coverageThe NHP mandates everyone
