In America more than one-third of the population is obese Obesity is the number two preventable cause of death in America right behind tobacco The blame for the American obesity problem is on the greasy grimy fatty fast food Even more of the blame is being put on the fast food companies the advertisement and even the children anything and everything The focus of this epidemic should be put extremely highly on the parentsOver one out of three children are overweight or obese Fast food is exactly what it says in the title fast On the go parents need something fast that can fill their children up and something cheap so they rely on fast food They do not necessarily have time to make steak or fish or other healthier options But they do not realize they have better choices when it comes to fast TV dinners are very quick in the microwave and they do not have as much fat as fast food if chosen the healthier option Single parents are constantly working majority of single parents work 3 to 4 jobs at a time they may not have as much as they would like to stay home and cook a nutritious meal There are healthier alternatives that are hasty to make such as sandwiches soup pasta etc Parents should focus on exercise just as much as a healthy diet Not enough children are getting the total amount of exercise they need to stay in shape TV is convenient and children get easily distracted in their favorite shows Most children are always on their computers or their video game consoles they are always pulled into something Children have forgotten what it is like to go outside and play in the mud or grass or even play tag and hide and go seek In school it seems like that is all the physical activity they get but that is not enough Children get at the
