Medicine is a fascinating subject one that is challenging and rewarding at the same time To be a great physician I believe one must devote their life to their patients and continuous education As I transition my way from my undergraduate career to medical school I think of what I could bring to medicine How can I improve the practice of medicine and what things will I do different in my practice that will take it above and beyond I want my medical school to use me as a vehicle to improve medicine for the future I believe that through preventative medicine we could change the face of medicine and help our patients live better and healthier lives I also believe the use of some preventative medicine could make hospitals more efficient and with the economic situation that most hospitals are in more efficient medical practices would be accepted with open arms I believe that medical school will give me the knowledge and tools to be a great physician and I believe that I am capable of doing great things in medicineI have had the privileged of volunteering at CHWC Hospital in Bryan Ohio working as a phlebotomist at CHWC and I am presently working for Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville Tennessee as an equipment technician where I second assist the surgeons in their procedures The experience I have gained in these positions has been invaluable As a phlebotomist I have seen the behind the scenes action of the lab and how crucial they are in the diagnosis of aliments Being at Southern Joint Replacement Institute has given me the opportunity to work with some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the nation and realize the great skill that these surgeons have but also how they rely on their team It takes a great surgeon to perform these difficult procedures but it also takes a great team helping them along the way The nurses
