Prostitution in the United States is seen as an unhealthy and obscene act and therefore have created laws that prosecute those who are in the prostitution ring A prostitute is a person usually female but is not limited to one gender and sells their body for money In this respect a person uses the act of sex to their benefit as profit As the law is concerned this act is illegal and is punished through the use of fines jail time or even parole The desire of individuals wanting to have sex with no legal ties attached This has led to the creation of prostitution Some will argue that prostitution should be legalized while others disagree I believe that the act of selling the use on a persons body for sexual pleasure goes against the human dignity and against the meaning of being civilizedTo start there has to be a brief history of Prostitution in the United States Prostitution has been dated back to the early days of when the European Settlers coming to the New World which was North America According to The Readers Companion t- American History there was at no point in time an agreement that there would be purchases made for sexual favors from the Native AmericansIt is from this point that prostitution has been rooted into our way of life as Americans It also flourished as a result if its popularity In the 1900s many religious organizations among amny pushed the government to pass laws that banned the business of prostitution As the years went on all states except for one this state being Nevada has made prostitution illegal and punished by their various lawsWithin these laws there were stipulations like the fact that the company that supported prostitution could not offend the community that it was a part the community it was in there are also
