Joe Fishburn Rhetoric Mr Thiel P9 Sacred Cow Church equals Morality There is a notion that has been passed on from generation to generation that going to church institutes morality This is a huge misconception Morality cannot be trivialized by religion Morals come from respect for nature respect for others and respect for yourself Morals are morals whether youre Christian Catholic Atheist Buddhist or part of any other belief system People dont even think about the faults in this state of mind anymore They simply accept it as true Apparently somewhere in time words got mixed up Church exists for people to be able to learn morality Church has become a place people use to be morally decent It may not be intentional but its there Many parents make their children go to church every week and many of their children find it incredibly boring Why do parents make the children that they love do something that theyre not interested in Some fall back on morality They need to get some morals Morals arent just handed out at the door They must be taught Parents have the power to give good morals to their children through their actions Young children learn best through example They try to mimic their parents behaviors in order to develop mentally and physically If parents display bad morals throughout the childs upbringing it is difficult to teach them otherwise On the other hand if parents show good morals children will grow up knowing right from wrong And if kids had good morals as a base the idea that attending church equals good morals can be thrown out If the sermons that you are attending are boring and uninteresting dont go At that point sleeping in would be a better alternative However there are people out there that have real reasons to go to church One parent I spoke with had excellent reasoning Her children
