Should the driving age be changed to eighteen years old Well according to an article Raise the Driving age written by the Los Angeles Times Opinion Staff the author comments that an auto insurance industry wants to raise the driving age In the article the auto insurance industry emphasizes that drivers between the ages of sixteen to eighteen have been considered the most dangerous The author explains that the graduated licensing has been doing well so the next thing to do is raise the age for driving so teens can reduce crash rates I agree with the auto insurance industry that the driving age should be increased to the age of eighteen because by doing so it will decrease car accidents and help teens do better in school Many teen have been getting into car accidents which is one of the reasons why the driving age should be raised According to Martha Irvine author of Teen Driving Age Should Be Raised Says Auto Safety Group she adds about more than five thousand teens in the USA have died because of car accidents It seems that the teen drivers are not careful or dont have enough experience to drive a car For example a friend of mine got a car when she was seventeen She got a car because she got her license so it was a gift from her parents Then about a month later she gets into a car accident and thankfully the accident was not fatal She only got some minor bruises But now because of the accident she told me that the chiropractor explained to her that she will have arthritis before the age of thirty This is a clear example of why the driving age should be raised because if it was then my friend would not have be in that terrible accident at all and she would be facing arthritis before the age of thirty According to the article Teen
