Breaching Experiment The norm I chose to violate is shopping out of peoples shopping carts at a grocery store When people go grocery shopping they get everything they need and put it in their cart As we go shopping we expect others to not touch what we have on our cart like we know we shouldnt touch what is in theirs If just anybody could walk up to your cart and take anything they want there would be a lot of problems between people while shopping Going grocery shopping would be a different thing Peoples behavior while grocery shopping would be very different They would have to guard their carts and make sure no one takes anything Respecting another persons shopping carts help us keep control in our society I decided to break this norm To violate this norm I am going to go to a grocery store and shop out of peoples shopping carts I will take an item from their cart like if that item was on a shelf in the grocery store and record their reactionSome possible reactions I will get while performing my experiment would most likely be anger and confusion People might be confused as to why I am looking in their carts and touching their items After feeling confused most people will react with anger We all know if you have something in your shopping cart its because you need it and youre going to buy it So if other people come and take it out of your cart you will be very upset because you took the time to go look for that specific item Someone would feel much disrespected and probably insulted by your actions The grocery store that I chose to go do my breaching experiment is Giant I am going to observe the reactions of 4 different groups of people who I chose The first group I want to observe is Spanish speaking
