My freshman year of college I attended Champlain College in Burlington Vermont I loved my major hospitality management and the whole atmosphere of the school I got a lot out of the classes I took and learned a lot about myself while I was there Unfortunately Champlain decided to end the hospitality and restaurant management program Like I said I loved Champlain but I loved my major more and I knew I wanted to pursue hospitality It wasnt worth going to a school and wasting upwards of 45000 a year majoring in something I wasnt passionate about Thats when I decided to transfer to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for the semester They do not have hospitality but I didnt have many options by the time I decided to transfer I am currently undeclared and trying to get some general classes out of the way I know the University of New Hampshire is the right fit for me because it has a great hospitality program and everything that comes along with it I like how much of the learning is outside of the classroom and that you really get to experience what goes on in the hospitality industry I also like how you include the hospitality students in UNH events Not only do the students get experience but they also have a chance to get involved in what UNH has to offerAnother part of the hospitality program that I really like is the requirement for on-the-job paid work experience The fact that you get credit for doing something that you love is such a great benefit Through transferring to the University of New Hampshire I know I will be able to achieve the grade point average that I strive to attain I also know that I will be receiving an outstanding education through the University of New Hampshires hospitality program In the end it is all about what makes you happy and what is best
