In the book Ghost on 3rd I related to two of the poems The Keeper of All Things Reese 33 and Playing with Balloons Reese 35 The Keeper of All Things had me reminiscing about my Grandma Ruby who last week had a heart attack In the poem Playing with Balloons Reese 35 brought up so many memories of my son Mason who was constantly getting himself into some sort of mischief or had some kind of sickness since he was five days old In Kearney at Good Samaritan Health Systems ER they all knew my son on a first name basis I will start with The Keeper of All things Reese 33 This weekend all of our family came home to rearrange her home for her to move around with ease with much fight from her knowing she was slowing losing her independence My Aunt Janel and I were rearranging her room so she would have more room to maneuver and added a chair close to her bed in case she needed to stabilize herself without falling All of the grandchildren were looking through all four of her bedrooms and closets and couldnt believe that every room had a full closet of her clothes and more than 30 shoes in each of those closets My grandma Ruby is 81 and she hasnt been able to wear more than a couple pair of shoes or much of her clothes in 20 years She is not willing to give up anything in her home because one day she might need to wear them once again or need to use an item once again someday As I was growing up in her house every nick knack pillow cookie sheet and her drawer that was full of old butter dishes with their accompanying lid To this day she could tell you exactly where an item is and what
