My Inner Shrimp Although I was never small I can also relate to this story in a way When I was younger I was a very chubby and unathletic kid I was always teased for being the fat kid and I never knew why I wasnt good at sports Being from St Louis the question when I was younger was how come Im not good at soccer But as time went on I began to realize what was important and that sports were just a part of it Then around seventh grade everything started to change I began to grow into my body fill out and gain an amount of coordination I never had before I began to play basketball all the time My dad was my coach By time my eight grade year rolled around I was the MVP of my AAU division and I was averaging over 20 points a game and now all those kids were left behind Then came freshman year of high school and I began to play football but my real reason for going to my highschool is because I wanted to play basketball Football was fun though but I wasnt too good at it my first year That was okay though because I was still going to play basketball Then two days into tryouts I rolled my ankle and injured it pretty badly and basketball abruptly stopped I never played basketball again but it was due to my choice I was out for most the season and I was guaranteed a spot on next years team but then things changed I started working really hard at football and thats what I chose to do and thats what Im doing now in college The whole point of that story is though that all the kids who made fun of this big fat unathletic kid are sitting somewhere wishing they are still playing soccer and the unathletic fat kids
