Gone are those days when ass meant donkey gay meant happy and all my family members were gay- I have grown up in an era of globalization and rejuvenation MMother was the first word the I uttered as a tot when I cherished every jiffy without the knowledge of English language In my schooling years I was exposed to English and today in this modern era predominantly many Indians have left behind their native tongues clearly disrespecting their mother languages while they run behind the cherry of the cake They prefer individualism over nationalism trend over tradition and status over culture but ultimately it all boils down to the dough and English provides this bread Today we are not curbed to the small corners of the globe but are held bare in front of a loftier world where the multiethnic demands need to be contented Today in a multilingual country like India knowledge of English language has dwelled diversely over its geography as Indians believe it is absolutely fruitless to become a victim of lingual frenzy and keep on adhering to Hindi Marathi Punjabi and other regional dialects Todays fast-growing Indian society has stereotyped the knowledge of English language by an individual as them being intellectual and educated which to me is a complete nuisance Dr Manmohan Singh Indias Prime Minister cannot converse well in English evident in his official speeches which have a slight tint of Hindi in them This shows how inter linguistic features of languages completely defines a culture English words have originated from Greek Latin French and other prominent languages Similarly in India today English is influencing Hindi Bengali Telegu Kannada and other regional languages causing a huge metamorphosis in Indian society in our ethos But well thats the new trend Contrasting this trend are Amitabh Bachhan LataMangeshkar Rajnikant Lalu Prasad Yadav Pranav Mukherjee NarendraModi and Mamta Banerjee who converse more in their native tongues than English These well-known personalities do
