Today many people suffer from eating disorders striving for an idealbody image It is often said that inner beauty is what matters the mostHowever for many despite age gender or status Beauty is perceptionof the Perfect body Size As a result people tend to seek suchattractiveness or acceptance by pushing beyond normal body boundariessometimes resulting in Eating disorders They can affect anyone fromteens in high school to celebrities like Demi Lovato and Elton John Theascendency of eating disorders in todays society is a significant issuethat should be promptly treated One of the most prevailing eating disorders affecting a vast majority ofpeople is Bulimia Nervosa Bulimia is characterized by obsessiveepisodes of binge eating which is eating large amounts of food at onceFor example during a binge episode a person could eat an entire pizzaor cake instead of eating a slice or two After binging the person feelsa cloud of guilt shame and anger submersing over them Which quicklyresults in the need to purge often done by self induced vomitingoveruse of Laxatives and or Extreme exercise in an attempt fromgaining any weight after a binging session Some factors that play inthe role of getting this disorder can be the feeling of being terrifiedof gaining weight obsessed with losing weight and or never being happywith ones body image This disorder can seem to give the person a senseof control and temporarily relief of any emotions that they might beexperiencing Symptoms for this condition can include Frequent trips tothe restroom after eating body image distortion and obsessive dietingand exercising Approximately11 - 42 of females suffer from bulimiaNervosa in their lifetime Woman are much more likely to be affectedwith bulimia but 10-15 of males are also affected ANAD Similarly another detrimental eating disorder affecting many isAnorexia Nervosa Anorexia is practicing self-starvation to perceive anideal perfect body It is common to see people starving themselvesrefusing to eat andor maintaining a below healthy body weightEating Disorders 2 Social media peer pressure
