Ive discovered that designing and building a bottle rocket is much harder than I expected it to be I originally designed the rocket to look in a way like the northern lights or Aurora Borealis Unfortunately I ran into a few complications that resulted in a change in the design When working on gluing the fins onto my rocket I used hot Glue as my adhesive The hot glue melted my bottle giving it a new shape Afraid that that would cause my rocket to stay grounded I decided to switch from hot glue to scotch tape as I had a lack of Duct tape in my house as my adhesive- even though it was a weak adhesive I first painted the black onto the bottle this was meant to be the background like the night sky The paint peeled off I ended up painting it again with the same paint which also just peeled off by the time I got to school I did not use all the colors I wanted to make it look like the northern lights because of the peeling paint and lack of paint I used pink paint to cover the left side of the fins on the bottle and also the tape hoping maybe that would help the tape to stay a little bit better After watching the launch of my rocket I would take a few extra minutes to make sure first that my bottle is in good condition and not melted The scotch tape worked and did not fall off but I would still use a different adhesive if I could My nose cone was at I weird angle I would make sure that my nose cone is straight as to point my bottle in the right direction Also since a big problem was the paint I would use spray paint instead of acrylic paint to paint my rocket so that I could keep the intended design
