Romeo has many flaws in his character He is against any violence even to protect himself and he likes the daughter of his worst enemy However he has a bigger and more extreme fatal flaw in his characteristic Romeos fatal flaw is his irrational behavior driven by his emotions of love and hate which eventually leads to his deathThe first vital cause of Romeos death is his idea of love In act II scene ii Romeo states Lady by yonder blessed moon I vow LineCVII In this is the line where Romeo agrees to marry Juliet Al thought marriage was common from age 12 or younger Romeo could have at least thought about it before giving his vow He also just found out that his love with Rosaline his former lover was unrequited In act III scene iii Romeo says but that a joy calls out on me Line CLXXII Romeo is saying that he is going to sleep with Juliet for the night and that is the greatest joy for him Although Friar Lawrence had performed the marriage ceremony for them the process is not complete until Romeo takes her maidenhead so there was still time to reconsider but he made his choice to proceed Also he does not stop to consider the state Juliet will be in when he leaves Verona and how it will affect her The second factor that leads to his death is his angerWhen Romeo gets angry he lets it fill him up and Romeo goes on the offensive He just seems to forget about all of his morals and in many cases commits a vice act In act III scene i Romeo says Either thou or I or both must go with him Line CXXV Romeo is telling Tybalt that one of them must die and join Mercutio Just five minutes ago he was telling Tybalt about how much he loves him and now he is saying
