Schools are invaluable in out country arent they They give our nations next generation the tools they need to succeed and make our nation prosper So it is the nations duty and responsibility to make sure kids get the education they need Yet public and private schools are receiving less and less money each year Schools lose money from the state and federal government via budget cuts they lose money due to inflation and schools have to spread the money over a greater and greater student population each year And what this is doing is creating a less effective and a more watered down education for our youth Schools are dealing with these changes very differently though and with mixed results But some schools are dealing with the budget cuts with astounding resiliency And if other schools follow their lead then we can turn our nations education system full circle The federal government has tried to help schools from this economic downturn To compensate these budget cuts the federal government gave schools 90 billion dollars in the 2009 stimulus package to stave off the ill effects of budget cuts The money came in the 2009-2010 and the 2010-2011 school year through programs like the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Education Jobs Legislation This massive amount of money was given to schools to keep teachers from being fired and stabilize budget cuts from the state and local level And 10 billion dollars was set aside to create new jobs if the schools didnt need to save already existing jobs The extra money from the federal government actually helped Most school disterics wherher they were inner city suburban or rural received money from at least one of these stimulus programs These programs did indeed keep schools from laying off teachers administraters even janitors Some schools even found the money to add new classes that werent offered in the past or update equipment that was
