The book Generation Me by Jean M Twenge is basically about the current generation and how different the level of respect is from the much older generation In this book it had mentioned how people now focus on more what satisfies them I do agree with that because Ive even said a few times that its not about anyone else but me For us to have moments like that multiple ones is where it goes wrong Our outlook on life isnt as appreciative as it should be We dont have to work as hard as others did the time before us We work hard but still dont get it at times My grandparents and parents had much more of a sense of calmness They had way more respect back in the day as it was for caring for others than just themselves As now a days it just how we feel how much we get and what exactly is done for us Its a sense of selfishness and no evaluation of the self has been done I wish that we were more sincere about things like how my elders were back then Everything now has to have a price attached to it rather just giving and doing something willingly without wanting to receive anything back In the book they mentioned William Hung a young guy who thought he was able to do anything even if it was singing He had built up so much self-esteem that though he didnt make it far on American Idol he still felt as if he could go far in life by singing He had high hopes into becoming famous In this generation now most of us desire to become famous because thats all we mostly know and see glam fame and fortune in many become to have an obsession with celebrities Some try becoming the actual celebrities We admire their styles so most of us go to look for
