Stephen A Brennan once said Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan in which we must fervently believe and upon which we must vigorously act There is no other route to success I feel that this quote is especially true when coming up with a plan for being successful in college I will feel my four years in college will have been successful if I achieve my long-term goal of getting into a good grad schoolI determined that my long-term goal is to get into grad school because I think it is a necessary step to getting hired by a company that I would want to work for Also I think that is an attainable goal for this time in my life In order to accomplish my long-term goal I have two short-term goals which are to get internships before graduation and to graduate with Honors I chose both of these short-term goals because they will make accomplishing my long-term goal easier Getting internships and graduating with Honors will help me stand out when applying to grad school which is important to me because I value education They will also help me to build relationships with potential employers after I go to grad school which fulfills my value of security Also I value achievement and self-improvement so the personal satisfaction of achieving my personal goals will help to fulfill those valuesTo accomplish my first short term goal of getting internships I need to practice interviewing keep my resume updated and go to all the job fairs These smaller and more attainable goals can be measured by setting a number of internships I would like to have before I graduate For this number I think two is a reasonable goal and I could maybe even be exceeded This goal is also time bound because I can set a time when I want to accomplish the goal by For this
