Crimes are committed nearly every moment of everyday from the possession or use of drugs or weaponry to theft to rape and homicides Almost half of these crimes are due to the growing amount of juvenile delinquents and the remaining percentage could be assumed to be criminals who started as juvenile offenders I believe that if we reach out to the heart of this issue crime rates will reduce drastically The first reason why I believe that parents should be held morally and legally responsible for their children is related to the influence a parent has on the internal state of a child The impulse to commit any sort of crime is usually connected to interpersonal barriers formed at an early age based off how a person is raised It is too often that unprepared orunfit parents raise a child unaware or negligent of their bad parenting These children grow into teenagers with more personal problems including depression and anger issues or any sort of internal issue that cause them to act out The main point being a child will act the way it was raised to act It is a parents duty to ensure their children are ready for the world and to encourage good decision making A child only knows what it is taught and to hold them accountable to a flaw their parents formed for them without any consequence to the parent would not hold much benefit because the child will more than likely resort back to delinquent behavior at some point And if the parents didnt care enough to prepare their kid beforehand why would they work even harder to stabilize the actions of their child after the child is legally punished without legal encouragement to the parents as well Parents have everything to do with the actions of their child whether theyre aware of it or notThat being said the second reason I believe that parents should be held morally
