Our gender personalities are sets of personal responses which are originally created in each of us by our up bringing Society has the most influence in determining what it is to be masculine and feminine I would define a woman as an individual who is the provider nurturer and has the ability and knowledge to complete any tasks as any other Everyday life has exposed the differences between the breadwinner and the homemaker The known household powers once included social governance family upbringing and breadwinning Through the late 1800s women were only praised for family up bringing which artificially categorizes them as being what we at labeled today homemaker Gender biological divides every human being into physically a male or a female Characteristics describe what is to be feminine and masculine Personalities which are developed by experiences and knowledge learned by our up bringing separates the acts into two Being feminine is to cook clean express emotional feelings and to be lady like proper Being Masculine is labeled to be strong minded hard worker and dominate Since women are known to express their feelings its labeled to be a feminine characteristic and if a man expressed his feelings its looked upon as a weak aspect According to the sex-role theory in sociology men are known to be aggressive rational dominate and therefore are fit enough to be the breadwinner And women are passive intuitive submissive and subjective which makes them capable of being the homemaker Being a woman I have encountered many different gender stereotypes In the Indian culture I have taught to be a homemaker and to have an arrange marriage with a man with a higher status than myself Out of security and assurance the man is known to be the breadwinner while the women are housewives Unfortunately through my parents I have personally experienced what happens when the woman depends on her husband for finical support Ive seen how being dependant
